Word of Faith founder Kenneth Hagin believed he will live up to 120 years of age. His successor Kenneth Copeland believes the same way. This assumption is based on a misunderstanding of Genesis 6:3, where the Lord says, "My Spirit will not remain with man forever, because he is also flesh; nevertheless his days shall be 120 years.” In this video I give Biblical reasons why the WoF interpretation of Genesis 6:3 is wrong.
Moreover, the unfulfilled lifespans of WoF teachers themselves speak against their teaching on longevity:
— Kenneth Hagin: He is known as the father of the Word of Faith movement. He is also the founder of Rhema Bible Training College. Hagin sat at the breakfast table Sunday morning and smiled at his wife, Oretha, then sighed and his head fell to his chest. He died of heart problems on September 19, 2003, at the age of 86.
— Charles Capps: He had daily national radio broadcast and a weekly television broadcast aired over several networks, satellite and the Internet called Concepts of Faith. Capps died on February 23, 2014, at the age 80.
—John Osteen: He was the founding pastor of Lakewood Church in Houston, Texas. He died on January 23, 1999, at the age of 77.
— Myles Munroe: He is the founder of Bahamas Faith Ministries International. Munroe tragically died in a private plane crash during airport approach on November 9, 2014, at the age of 60.
— Norval Hayes: He founded New Life Bible College. He passed away at his home on October 6, 2018, at the age of 91.
— Frederick Price: He was known for his Ever Increasing Faith ministries broadcast. He died from complications of COVID-19 at a hospital in Los Angeles on February 12, 2021, at age 89.
Interestingly, WoF apologist Rod Saunders agrees that WoF teaching on longevity is erroneous.
