For Paul, the apostle of Jesus, life is about knowing Jesus better and telling others about him. Paul was going through great suffering, he went to prison, people were trying to stir up trouble for him and in Philippians he was under house arrest in Rome. He didn't know whether he would live or die. Paul shows us that if your greatest joy in life is Christ, then nothing - not even - death can take your joy away.
