Paul gives instructions to Christian households. Children are to obey parents and thus please the Lord. Rather than a long list of legal decisions about problems that arise, the New Testament gives us godly principles to live by. Everything is about serving the Lord with singleness of heart. We need to resist the urge to substitute human wisdom for what God provides for us at the throne of grace. The Lord's flock needs pure, spiritual food.
