In Exodus 3, the Israelites are freed from slavery by God. This moment points to an even greater liberation in history, one where God would come down to earth in human form and die in our place. When we put our trust in Jesus, we are freed from the penalty of sin and the power sin has over us because our "if onlys" are transformed.
