Spurgeon spent years struggling under the burden of his sin and heavy conviction. He knew his own need for the Lord yet he lacked simple, saving faith. God brought Spurgeon to Himself through a simple message of "Look and Live." Look away from yourself and look to Christ. Salvation is outside of you and in Christ alone. This simple sermon delivered by a humble layman would live forever in Spurgeon's memory.
