The first stage of God fulfilling this promise comes in picture form – with God establishing a great nation in the people of Israel. As we reach the end of the book of Genesis, and the beginning of the book of Exodus, we find Abraham’s descendants in the country of Egypt – where they end up as slaves. But God had not forgotten his promise to Abraham – nor his promise of a deliverer that he made to Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden.
